El lunes 28 y 29 de noviembre, despedida a lo grande en Madrid. Gracias Impact Hub y EOI por este proyecto soñado. Gracias breakers porque nos habéis hecho crecer y nos dejáis con ganas de más. Y gracias a todas esas personas e instituciones que, de manera desinteresada, han colaborado con Genion para hacer posible un programa nacido para afrontar los retos locales desde una perspectiva más global y para atraer el talento femenino a nuestra terreta: el Vinalopó. En el 2023, continuará…

Cantidad de abrazos, aprendizajes, momentos de cocreación, lágrimas y mucho hacer balance sobre lo vivido. Os dejamos por aquí algunas de las imágenes de la ceremonia organizada por EOI e Impact Hub en Madrid para las 120 breakers de toda España. ¡Momentazos que nos llevamos para siempre!

And thanks to all those people and institutions that, in a selfless way, have collaborated with Genion to make possible a program born to face local challenges from a more global perspective and to attract female talent to our land: the Vinalopó. Lunes 21. Arrancamos la mañana con nuestro SweetMonday. Hoy es especial, y no solo porque sea el último, sino porque las breakers preparan un showroom para enseñarnos sus productos: joyería, kimonos, todo tipo de vestidos…¡increíble! También nos visita de nuevo Paloma Tarazona, directora de Fevecta, para hablarnos de cooperativas europeas para mujeres (temazo). Terminamos la sesión grupal y Veronika organiza un taller práctico al que ha llamado  ‘Entender las fibras = Entender los tejidos’, dirigido a las demás breakers que se dedican a la moda sostenible: 4 horas intensas que se les han pasado volando ¡gracias Purply Kimono por la masterclass!

Martes 22. Hoy las breakers van a la Universidad de Alicante donde les recibe Mar Cervera, Directora de Desarrollo del Parque Científico PCA, contactazo y posibles sinergias a la vista. Por la tarde, sesión grupal con Impact Hub Madrid, en la que seguimos con la clase del pasado jueves sobre crowdfunding con Francesca Passari.  

Miércoles 23. Visita VIP de la Directora General de Emprendimiento y Cooperativismo de la Generalitat Valenciana, Teresa García, junto a Margarita Albors Presidenta de SocialNest y Marta Gironés de la Asociación StartUp Valencia para conocer al grupo de mujeres de The Break Vinalopó. Compartir ideas, talento, estudiar colaboraciones, desayunar y hablar mucho… bonita manera de comenzar la mañana. A las 13:00h, recepción oficial del Ayuntamiento de Villena a The Break Vinalopó. Turismo, Museo, comida en el nuevo restaurante de las fundadoras de MQR (Más que Radio, ojo una cooperativa de mujeres valientes) y visita a dos empresas que lo están sabiendo hacer muy bien en el territorio: ‘Vestuarios Especiales Gil Palao’ y ‘Textiles Athenea’.

Jueves 24. Hoy visita especial, de esas que llegan hondo. Eva y Laura de EOI a Genion Lab. Comemos juntas y las breakers se van volando a casa, allí tienen una dinámica junto a Eva Curto que se alarga toda la tarde. Empoderar, empatizar, reconocer el talento, hacer comunidad, inspirar… nos quedamos con mucho de lo sucedido esa tarde.

Viernes 25. Último día en Genion Lab, hay que aprovechar cada minuto. El inicio: pinta más que bien. La actriz Natalia Bravo viene a dar una clase de expresión corporal para la oratoria, esta es siempre una de las sesiones favoritas de las emprendedoras. Técnica, risas y mucho que llevarnos para las próximas puestas en escena. Para la despedida: nuestro refugio gastronómico favorito en la montaña. En La Finca La Esperanza de Petrer: arroces impresionantes, productos locales y del terroir, cata de aceites de la cooperativa y mucho bailoteo. Fin de fiesta perfecto.

Monday 21. We start the morning with our SweetMonday. Today is special, and not only because it is the last, but because the breakers prepare a showroom to show us their products: jewelry, kimonos, all kinds of dresses … incredible! Paloma Tarazona, director of Fevecta, also visits us again to talk about European cooperatives for women (really good topic). We finish the group session and Veronika organizes a practical workshop called ‘Understanding fibers = Understanding fabrics’, aimed at other breakers who are dedicated to sustainable fashion: 4 intense hours that have flown by, thanks Purply Kimono for the masterclass!
Tuesday 22. Today the breakers go to the University of Alicante where they are received by Mar Cervera, Director of Development of the PCA Science Park, contact and possible synergies in sight. In the afternoon, group session with Impact Hub Madrid, in which we continue with last Thursday’s class on crowdfunding with Francesca Passari

Wednesday 23. VIP visit of the General Director of Entrepreneurship and Cooperativism of the Generalitat Valenciana, Teresa García, together with Margarita Albors President of SocialNest and Marta Gironés of the StartUp Valencia Association to meet the group of women of The Break Vinalopó. Share ideas, talent, study collaborations, have breakfast and talk a lot… Nice way to start the morning. At 1:00 p.m, official reception of the City Council of Villena to The Break Vinalopó. Tourism, Museum, lunch in the new restaurant of the founders of MQR (More than Radio, eye a cooperative of brave women) and visit to two companies that are knowing how to do it very well in the territory: ‘Gil Palao Special Costumes’ and ‘Textiles Athenea’

Thursday 24. Today a special visit, of those that arrive deeply. Eva and Laura from EOI come to Genion Lab. We eat together and the breakers fly home, there they have a dynamic with Eva Curto that lasts all afternoon. Empower, empathize, recognize talent, make community, inspire… We were left with much of what happened that afternoon.

Friday 25. Last day at Genion Lab, you have to take advantage of every minute. The beginning: it looks more than good. The actress Natalia Bravo comes to give a body expression class for oratory, this is always one of the favorite sessions of entrepreneurs. Technique, laughter and a lot to take for the next staging. For the farewell: our favorite gastronomic refuge in the mountains. At La Finca La Esperanza de Petrer: impressive rice, local and terroir products, tasting of oils from the cooperative and a lot of dancing. Perfect end of party.

Lunes 14. Empieza el día con nuestro SweetMonday. Hoy, vuelve un invitado súper especial:  David Moreno, fundador de Hawkers, que viene a hablar sobre su nuevo proyecto: FastLove Studios. David es un visionario que nos acerca a conceptos como las comunidades Solarpunk, los universos virtuales descentralizados como las Meta Nations o el mundo de los NFT… sesión para dibujar nuevos futuros. Desayuno, café al sol en La Terracica de Genion Lab y ¡vuelta al trabajo!

Martes 15. Las breakers ponen rumbo al coworking Hubitat, un espacio público del Ayuntamiento de Mutxamel gestionado de manera privada por Genion, donde participan en una sesión de International Networking. Sin duda, una oportunidad única para establecer relaciones y crear nuevos vínculos… ya sabéis, tejiendo everywhere 😉

Miércoles 16. Hoy parte del grupo de The Break Vinalopó visita el Parque Tecnológico de la empresa Actiu, en Castalla. Soledat Berbegal, Responsable de Reputación Corporativa, ajerce de anfitriona junto a las breakers. Durante la visita, comparten puntos de vista sobre los diferentes proyectos y hablan sobre cómo la empresa y las breakers podrían buscar sinergias y ayudarse mutuamente… Ellas mismas nos comentan que Soledat Berbegal se ha convertido, tras la visita, en un modelo de inspiración femenina que no olvidarán.

Jueves 17. Día non-stop. Por la mañana, las breakers visitan las instalaciones de AIJU, el Instituto Tecnológico de Producto Infantil y Ocio. Por la tarde, formación con Impact Hub Madrid, donde Francesca Passari imparte una sesión sobre crowdfunding. Para terminar, completamos el día con una sesión grupal sobre Marcas y Patentes que imparte Alberto Segura, de la red Genion.

¡Y por fin Viernes! Comenzamos con visita a INESCOP.  Paqui Arán nos enseña las instalaciones y los Demostradores con todo tipo de detalles sobre los proyectos sostenibles en torno a la Industria de la Moda y el Calzado en los que están investigando. En Petrer, nos espera la familia de Hispanitas en una de sus fábricas para que las breakers conozcan el proceso de producción de una fábrica española. Después break para comer y ¡sesión del reto Industria! Por cierto, acaba de llegar Maria Solano, desde Impact Hub Madrid…

¡Empieza el finde! El sábado vamos hasta Alicante, donde empieza el Demoday de proyectos de la lanzadera cultural y creativa que gestiona Genion: Impulsa Cultura Proyecta. Las chicas tienen su propio stand y aprovechan para dar a conocer sus proyectos más allá del Vinalopó. Después de una mañana sin parar, comida healthy en frente del mar en un rincón muy top: el chiringuito La Gallina. ¡A los gofres de postre invita Diego Tomás!

Monday 14. The day starts with our SweetMonday. Today, a super special guest returns: David Moreno, founder of Hawkers, who comes to talk about his new Project:  FastLove Studios. David is a visionary who brings us closer to concepts such as Solarpunk communities, decentralized virtual universes such as Meta Nations or the world of NFTs… Session to draw new futures. Breakfast, coffee in the sun at La Terracica de Genion Lab and back to work!

Tuesday 15. The breakers head to coworking Hubitat, a public space of the City Council of Mutxamel privately managed by Genion, where they participate in an International Networking session. Undoubtedly, a unique opportunity to establish relationships and create new links… You know, weaving everywhere 😉

Wednesday 16. Today part of the group of The Break Vinalopó visits the Technology Park of the company Actiu; in Castalla. Soledat Berbegal, Head of Corporate Reputation, acts as hostess with the breakers. During the visit, they share their own points of views on the different projects and talk about how the company and the breakers could seek synergies and help each other… The breakers themselves tell us that Soledat Berbegal has become, after the visit, a model of female inspiration that they will not forget.

Thursday 17. Non- stop day. In the morning, the breakers visit the facilities of AIJU, the Technological Institute of Children’s Products and Leisure. In the afternoon, training with Impact Hub Madrid, where Francesca Passari gives a session on crowdfunding. Finally, we completed the day with a group session on Trademarks and Patents given by Alberto Segura, from the Genion network.

And finally Friday! We start the day with a visit to INESCOP. Paqui Arán shows us the facilities and the Demonstrators with all kinds of details about the sustainable projects around the Fashion and Footwear Industry in which they are investigating. In Petrer, the family of Hispanitas awaits us in one of their factories so that the breakers know the production process of a Spanish factory. Then lunch break and Industry challenge session! By the way, Maria Solano has just arrived, from Impact Hub Madrid…

The weekend begins! On Saturday we go to Alicante, where the Demoday of projects of the cultural and creative shuttle managed by Genion: Impulsa Cultura Proyecta begins. The girls have their own stand and take the opportunity to publicize their projects beyond the Vinalopó. After a non-stop morning, lunch in front of the sea in a very top restaurant: the beach bar La Gallina. Diego Tomás invites us to the dessert waffles!

Tras un fin de semana de aterrizaje, compras, deporte y algo de turismo, el lunes primer Sweetmonday junto a la comunidad de Genion Lab. El tópico: ¡los churros! Y damos inicio a una semana con agenda completa. 

El martes 8 visita de la Delegada del Gobierno en la Comunidad Valenciana Pilar Bernabé. No lo esperábamos, la verdad, pero tener aquí a la máxima autoridad del Gobierno en nuestro coworking para conocer a las breakers ha sido uno de los momentazos de The Break en nuestra terreta. Tras atender a los medios de comunicación, networking distendido con brunch para conocer los proyectos de las 12 emprendedoras y despedida a Pilar Bernabé.

Miércoles 9, empezamos la mañana con una sesión grupal, a cargo de Elena Payà, para que nuestras breakers sigan aprendiendo sobre el funcionamiento de la plataforma de comunidades emprendedoras de Genion: La Network. Meetings, trabajo y mentorías… Y a las 16:00 sesión de fotos de Raúl Barrero (nuestro fotógrafo favorito) con las chicas ¡top models!

El jueves 10 formación en The Break Vinalopó, conectando con Impact Hub Madrid para escuchar a Korinna Irschitz en su sesión de liderazgo y comunicación. Después, recibimos  en el Lab al alumnado del Máster Deleite de Desarrollo Local de la Universidad de Alicante para ahondar en uno de los retos locales con los que el grupo de breakers se han comprometido: ‘Turismo en el Valle del Vinalopó’. Hoy no son ellas las que harán turismo, sino que nos ayudarán a impulsarlo en la zona. 

Viernes 11… y hoy sí, las breakers hacen turismo. Esta vez en Elda, en una día de tormenta que no frena a las breakers. Nos recibe en el Ayuntamiento Silvia Ibáñez, la concejal de Industria y Fomento de Elda. Samuel, el técnico de la Oficina de Turismo, nos relata todo súper apasionado (¡gracias!) y nos acompaña durante todo el recorrido por la Plaza de Arriba con su nuevo mural de Doble 13 (ojo, fueron alumnos nuestros en Impulsacultura Proyecta, so proud). Más tarde, directas al Casino a desayunar. Allí se incorpora el alcalde de la ciudad: Rubén Alfaro y comienza una charla súper distendida para conocer sus proyectos y generar sinergias y posibles colaboraciones (incluso inversiones) en Elda. Un momentazo, la verdad. ¡Súper agradecidas!

El fin de semana: intensito. Compras, viisitas a Altea y El Albir, arroz negro y tintos de verano… y ruta de tapas y pubs por Elda y Petrer. ¡Los días vuelan y hay que darlo todo!

Para finalizar el finde, las breakers se reunieron en un círculo de mujeres donde practicaron mindfulness; vivieron experiencias para sentir la fuerza, el apoyo y el amor del grupo. ¡Gracias Eva Reida por dirigir la sesión!

After a weekend of landing, shopping, sport and a bit of sightseeing, the first Sweetmonday on Monday with the Genion Lab community. The topic: churros! And that’s the start of a week with a full agenda.

On Tuesday 8th, the Government Delegate for the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, visited us. We didn’t expect it, to be honest, but having the highest authority of the Government here in our coworking to meet the breakers has been one of the highlights of The Break in our terreta. After attending to the media, relaxed networking with brunch to get to know the projects of the 12 entrepreneurs and a farewell to Pilar Bernabé.

Wednesday 9th, we start the morning with a group session, led by Elena Payà, so that our breakers can continue learning about the functioning of the Genion entrepreneurial community platform: La Network. Meetings, work and mentoring… And at 16:00 a photo session by Raúl Barrero (our favourite photographer) with the girls, top models!

On Thursday 10th training at The Break Vinalopó, connecting with Impact Hub Madrid to listen to Korinna Irschitz in her session on leadership and communication. Afterwards, we received in the Lab the students of the Master Deleite of Local Development of the University of Alicante to delve into one of the local challenges that the group of breakers are committed to: ‘Tourism in the Vinalopó Valley’. Today they are not the ones who will do tourism, but they will help us to promote it in the area.

Friday 11th… and today, yes, the breakers are going sightseeing. This time in Elda, on a stormy day that doesn’t stop the breakers. Silvia Ibáñez, Elda’s Councillor for Industry and Development, welcomes us at the Town Hall. Samuel, the technician from the Tourist Office, tells us everything with great passion (thank you!) and accompanies us all the way through the Plaza de Arriba with his new Doble 13 mural (be careful, they were our students in Impulsacultura Proyecta, so proud). Later, we go directly to the Casino for breakfast. There, the mayor of the city, Rubén Alfaro, joins us and starts a very relaxed chat to get to know their projects and generate synergies and possible collaborations (even investments) in Elda. A great moment, to be honest, and we were very grateful!

The weekend: intense. Shopping, visits to Altea and El Albir, black rice and summer reds… and a tapas and pub crawl around Elda and Petrer. The days fly by and we have to give it all!

To end the weekend, the breakers gathered in a women’s circle where they practiced mindfulness and lived experiences to feel the strength, support and love of the group. Thank you Eva Reida for leading the session!

El jueves 3 de noviembre recibimos a 12 nuevas emprendedoras europeas en Genion Lab. Como ya sabéis, The Break es un proyecto europeo de atracción del talento femenino hacia Europa y Genion es una de las 12 organizaciones elegidas para gestionarlo (¡la única en la Comunidad Valenciana!). Y, más allá del talento, lo que está suponiendo para nuestro equipo es una experiencia apasionante, llena de retos y de sueños cumplidos y por cumplir. 

En octubre tuvimos junto a nosotros, a un grupo de 12 mujeres excepcionales y ahora en noviembre ha llegado el segundo grupo. Va a ser maravilloso poder conectar a las breakers con todo nuestro ecosistema emprendedor y tejer relaciones que duren más allá del programa. 

¡Ya están en casa! Son Josephine, Thalia, Pukhraj, Katharina, Veronika, Eva, Parva, Agnès, Edyta, Grete, Elise y Maithe. Empresarias valientes, comprometidas con las personas y la naturaleza, con ganas de vivir intensamente su paso por The Break en el Vinalopó… y nosotros muy afortunados por tenerlas cerca 😉

El viernes 4, recepción oficial del Ayuntamiento de Petrer al segundo grupo de breakers. La alcaldesa Irene Navarro, el concejal de Desarrollo Económico David Morcillo y varias personas del equipo de gobierno local ejercen de anfitriones por todo lo alto y comienza la visita al castillo y el paseo por el casco antíguo. Primera picaeta de bienvenida en la Comunidad Cultural El Faro junto a emprendedoras locales culturales que están recuperando una antigua fábrica de calzado y creando un espacio único en el centro de Petrer dedicado al arte y al trabajo colaborativo.

On Thursday 3rd November we welcome 12 new European female entrepreneurs at Genion Lab. As you already know, The Break is a European project to attract female talent to Europe, and Genion is one of the 12 organisations chosen to manage it (the only one in the Valencian Community!). And, beyond the talent, what it has meant for our team is an exciting experience, full of challenges and dreams fulfilled and yet to be fulfilled. 

In October we had a group of 12 exceptional women with us, and now in November  the second group has arrived. It is going to be wonderful to be able to connect the breakers with our entire entrepreneurial ecosystem and weave relationships that will last beyond the programme. 

They’re home! They are Josephine, Thalia, Pukhraj, Katharina, Veronika, Eva, Parva, Agnès, Edyta, Grete, Elise y Maithe. Courageous entrepreneurs, committed to people and nature, eager to live intensely their time at The Break Vinalopó…and we are very lucky to have them close 😉

On Friday 4th, official reception at the Petrer Town Hall for the second group of breakers. The mayor Irene Navarro, the councillor for Economic Development David Morcillo and several people from the local government team act as hosts in style and the visit to the castle and the walk through the old town begins. First welcome ‘picaeta’ in the Cultural Community El Faro with local cultural entrepreneurs who are recovering and old shoe factory and creating a unique space in the centre of Petrer desiccated to art and collaborative work
