Fin de semana de expediciones: la piscina helada de la casa de campo, las playas, las rutas de montaña… y todo un descubrimiento para nuestras breakers: el Parque Natural de la Albufera en Valencia, con sus aves, los arrozales y los paseos en barca. 

También, por fin, comienzan las catas de arroces en nuestra terreta. ¿Quién ganará: arroz alicantino o paella valenciana? Serán las breakers quienes decidan al final de su estancia 😉

A weekend of expeditions: the icy pool at the country house, the beaches, the mountain routes… and a discovery for our breakers: the Albufera Natural Park in Valencia, with its birds, rice fields and boat rides.

Also, at last, the rice tastings in our terreta begin. Who will win: Alicante’s rice or Valencian paella? It will be up to the breakers to decide at the end of their stay 😉

Viernes 07

Día intenso: visita a Inescop (Instituto Tecnológico del Calzado), a la fábrica Studio Ilana, al Museo del Calzado y primera sesión de trabajo para abordar el reto comarcal de la Industria con el que se han comprometido las breakers.

En la visita a Inescop nos recibe Paqui Arán y Javi Navarro, y guían durante todo el recorrido a las breakers para que conozcan sus tres demostradores. Aquí nos enseñaron lo que será  ‘el zapato del futuro’; su tecnología y, además, nos hablaron sobre cómo han dado el salto a fabricar con materiales reciclados. Visita top.

A continuación, nos desplazamos hasta la sede de Studio Ilana. Las breakers se quedaron muy sorprendidas con la forma de trabajar de esta compañía y su fabricación artesanal para marcas de lujo.

A mediodía, llegamos al Museo del Calzado donde nos esperaba Rubén Alfaro, Alcalde de Elda, y Silvia Ibáñez, Concejala de Industria, para dar la bienvenida oficial de la ciudad de Elda a The Break Vinalopó. Fotos de familia, regalitos, agradecimientos y mucha atención a lo que programas europeos como The Break pueden aportar a la ciudad. En el Museo iniciamos la primera sesión para trabajar el reto de Industria (las breakers vienen comprometidas con los retos comarcales) desde el prisma más femenino, europeo, sostenible e inclusivo. Trataremos de pintar nuevos futuros desde el optimismo. Agradecemos especialmente la implicación de Inescop, con todo su expertise, en el desarrollo de cada una de estas sesiones para lograr contextualizarlo todo. Gracias también hoy al equipo de gobierno de Elda por la compañía, la picaeta en el Museo y por todo el apoyo recibido desde los inicios de nuestra candidatura a participar en The Break desde la Concejalía de Industria de Elda. Y gracias a Loles Esteve, Directora del Museo del Calzado, que nos atendió con mucho cariño y generosidad y que además nos regaló una ruta sorpresa por el museo al finalizar la sesión.

Estos días la cobertura de medios de comunicación está siendo un súper éxito, el proyecto aparece en televisiones locales, comarcales y en la autonómica valenciana A Punt, además de en los principales medios de toda la provincia. La estancia de The Break está despertando mucho interés y, desde aquí, aprovechamos para agradecer a la gran cantidad de periodistas que nos están llamando para concertar entrevistas y ampliar información sobre el programa europeo 😉

Friday the 7th

Intense day: visit to Inescop (Footwear Technological Institute), the Studio Ilana factory, the Footwear Museum and the first work session to tackle the regional challenge of the industry to which the breakers have committed themselves.

During the visit to Inescop, Paqui Arán and Javi Navarro welcomed us and guided the breakers throughout the tour so that they could get to know their three demonstrators. Here they showed us what will be ‘the shoe of the future’; its technology and, in addition, they talked to us about how they have made the leap to manufacturing with recycled materials. Top visit.

Next, we went to the headquarters of Studio Ilana. The breakers were very surprised with the way this company works and its handmade production for luxury brands.

At midday, we arrived at the Footwear Museum where Rubén Alfaro, Mayor of Elda, and Silvia Ibáñez, Councillor for Industry, were waiting for us to officially welcome the city of Elda to The Break Vinalopó. Family photos, gifts, thanks and a lot of attention to what European programmes such as The Break can bring to the city. In the Museum we started the first session to work on the challenge of Industry (the breakers are committed to the regional challenges) from a more feminine, European, sustainable and inclusive perspective. We will try to paint new futures based on optimism. We are especially grateful for the involvement of Inescop, with all its expertise, in the development of each of these sessions in order to contextualise everything. Thanks also today to the Elda government team for the company, the picaeta at the Museum and for all the support received since the beginning of our candidacy to participate in The Break from the Elda Department of Industry. And thanks to Loles Esteve, Director of the Footwear Museum, who treated us with great affection and generosity and who also gave us a surprise tour of the museum at the end of the session.

These days the media coverage is being a great success, the project is appearing on local and regional television and on the Valencian regional A Punt, as well as in the main media throughout the province. The Break’s stay is arousing a lot of interest and we would like to take this opportunity to thank the large number of journalists who are calling us to arrange interviews and further information about the European programme 😉

Jueves 06

Nuevo día de Formación en Genion Lab para The Break. El grupo conecta desde la Academy con Impact Hub Madrid para que las breakers sigan sus sesiones formativas. Hoy clase con Korina Irschitz sobre liderazgo y comunicación. 

Al llegar a casa, como de costumbre, las breakers cenan juntas en la casa de campo. Y es que, aunque el grupo es súper diverso, se llevan genial: comparten mesa e incluso ¡preparan la cena entre todas!  Y no cualquier cena, siempre saludable… y veggie.

Por cierto , nos cuentan que Aga es muy ‘Ángel de la guarda’ del grupo y que siempre está ahí ayudando, apoyando y dispuesta a darlo todo

Thursday the 6th

New training day at Genion Lab for The Break. The group connects from the Academy with Impact Hub Madrid so that the breakers can follow their training sessions. Today we have a class with Korina Irschitz on leadership and communication.

When they get home, as usual, the breakers have dinner together in the country house. Although the group is very diverse, they get along great: they share a table and even prepare dinner together! And not just any dinner, always healthy… and veggie.

By the way, we are told that Aga is like the ‘Guardian Angel’ of the group and that she is always there helping, supporting and ready to give her all.

Miércoles 05

Y continúan las mentorías. Hoy con Esther siguen las sesiones face-to-face de mentoring: Clem, Verena, Annabel y Eline revisando conceptos como la visión o los valores éticos que rigen sus proyectos. 

Por la tarde, un grupo se va con Carlos a conocer la comunidad cultural y creativa El Faro que trabaja desde las fábricas de La Ciudad sin Ley en Petrer. Un espacio con una magia especial. Aquí conocen a algunas emprendedoras como nuestra querida Elisa de La Punxeta Cerámica, participante de PetrerEmprende por cierto. O Yolanda (una de nuestras primeras coworkers) y Maider fundadoras de la agencia La Vache. Después, noche de turismo por Petrer y ¡desfile por sorpresa!: “La nit d’ abans”.

Wednesday the 5th

And the mentoring continues. Today, with Esther, the face-to-face mentoring sessions continue: Clem, Verena, Annabel and Eline review concepts such as vision and the ethical values that govern their projects.

In the afternoon, a group goes with Carlos to get to know the cultural and creative community El Faro, which works from the factories of La Ciudad sin Ley in Petrer. A space with a special magic. Here they meet some entrepreneurs like our dear Elisa from La Punxeta Cerámica, participant of PetrerEmprende by the way. Or Yolanda (one of our first coworkers) and Maider, founders of the agency La Vache. Afterwards, a night of sightseeing in Petrer and a surprise parade: «La nit d’ abans».

Lunes 03

Sweetmonday para conocer a la comunidad de Genion Lab, que es un desayuno que hacemos todos los lunes en el coworking.

Además, este es especial porque también vienen las breakers! Y estamos seguros de que los SweetMondays les van a gustar tanto como a nosotros, porque además de charlar y conocernos un poco más, que mejor forma de empezar un lunes que comiendo algo rico!
Ronda presentaciones, se presentan todas las breakers y nos cuentan cosas sobre ellas, sus negocios, algo de su vida personal… y por supuesto, el team Genion también se presenta.
Día intenso de mentorías, junto a Diego Tomás para revisar cada modelo de negocio e impulsar el mayor número de conexiones en el territorio. Y con Esther Navarro, de Branding, para revisar el corazón de sus marcas y valorar el momento profesional y vital en el que se encuentran.

Monday the 3rd

First Sweetmonday to meet the Genion Lab community, our favourite shared breakfast every Monday at the coworking. This one is special because the breakers are coming! And we are convinced that they are going to enjoy it as much as we do. It’s all about getting to know each other, chatting and starting the week with good things. After the round of introductions, we already know more about the group of European entrepreneurs 😉

Intense day of mentoring, with Diego Tomás to review each business model and promote the greatest number of connections in the territory. And with Esther Navarro, from Branding, to review the heart of their brands and assess the professional and vital moment in which they find themselves.

Una larga semana. Agotadas, las breakers se familiarizan con el entorno. Y aún sacan fuerza para hacer algo de turismo por Petrer y Elda. En Petrer, el castillo y el casco antiguo; y en Elda, el centro de la ciudad y sus plazas con más ambiente. Alguien nos chiva que Diahala se ha comprado un ukulele en una conocida tienda de instrumentos de Elda. Y que Eline anda a la caza del viento a ver si logra surfear por la playa de San Juan (Alicante).

Deporte, montaña, comida sana… y el primer sábado con cenita y copas en Elda y concierto de Carlos Baute en Petrer. El domingo, eso si, día de descanso y sol y a reponer fuerzas para iniciar la primera semana completa en Genion Lab 😉

A long week. Exhausted, the breakers become familiar with the enviroment. And they still find the strength to do some sightseeing in Petrer and Elda. In Petrer, the castle and the old town; and in Elda, the city centre and its liveliest squares. Someone tells us that Diahala has bought a ukulele in a well-known instrument shop in Elda. And that Eline is on the hunt for the wind to see if she can surf on the beach of San Juan.

Sport, mountain, healthy food… and the first Saturday with dinner and drinks in Elda and a concert of Carlos Baute in Petrer. On Sunday, a day of rest and sun and to regain strength to start the first full week in Genion Lab 😉

No es un viernes cualquiera sino ¡EL VIERNES DEL AÑO en Genion Lab!

Con The Break Vinalopó coincidiendo con el décimo aniversario de nuestro querido coworking pues ha sido irremediable no llenar del día de celebraciones y fiestas everywhere.

En la rueda de prensa de lanzamiento de The Break Vinalopó recibimos a la Directora General de Emprendimiento y Cooperativismo, Teresa García, a Irene Navarro, alcaldesa de Petrer, a Silvia Ibáñez, Concejala de Industria y a Fernando Garrido, Director de la EOI Mediterráneo, entre un montón de empresas colaboradoras que nos han ayudado a traer el programa al Vinalopó desde el minuto uno. Y, por supuesto, ¡nuestras queridas breakers!

Gracias a toda la mesa (muy femenina) de la rueda de prensa y, en especial, a Irene Navarro, Alcaldesa de Petrer, y a su equipo de la Concejalía de Desarrollo Económico por ejercer de Ciudad Anfitriona de The Break Vinalopó 2022.

Tras el desayuno en la Terracica de Genion Lab, nos trasladamos al 4×4 de Jovempa, donde Genion es una de las empresas veteranas que se presentan en el evento. Un networking extraordinario para las emprendedoras europeas donde tienen la oportunidad de conocer a una buena representación del tejido empresarial comarcal. 

¡Y arrancamos PlanG! El sarao emprendedor de Genion donde reunimos a las comunidades emprendedoras con las que trabajamos en toda la provincia, y tomamos café, y nos ponemos al día con nuestros proyectos, y nos reímos y abrazamos mucho.

Hoy el PlanG se inicia con un Café Circular, dinamizado por Paqui Calderón de La Paca Vintage Market, emprendedora de ImpulsaCultura Proyecta que nos mueve de un lado a otro haciendo trueque de aquéllo que no usamos para cambiarlo por alguna cosita nueva. ¡Café comprometido con la economía circular!

Picaeta, FuckUp Nights junto a Teresa de Babylobitos, Natalia Bravo, Víctor Íñiguez, Rubén Martínez y Adrián de Wabi… entre otros espontáneos con ganas de contar lo mal que lo hicieron en algún momento con algún negocio. Compartir, reír y relativizar lo malo. ¡La mejor terapia!

Y conciertazo, como siempre, junto a los rockeros de For Sale con Antonio Marí a la cabeza. Discurso (con lagrimitas y todo) de Diego Tomás para rememorar los 10 años ya de andanzas por Genion Lab. Y, agotadas, misión cumplida. Un día para recordar, como mínimo, durante 10 años más.

It’s not just any Friday but THE FRIDAY OF THE YEAR at Genion Lab!
With The Break Vinalopó coinciding with the tenth anniversary of our beloved coworking, it was impossible not to fill the day with celebrations and parties everywhere.
At the press conference to launch The Break Vinalopó we welcomed the General Director of Entrepreneurship and Cooperativism, Teresa García, Irene Navarro, Mayoress of Petrer, Silvia Ibáñez, Councillor for Industry and Fernando Garrido, Director of the EOI Mediterráneo, among a host of collaborating companies that have helped us to bring the programme to Vinalopó from minute one. And, of course, our dear breakers!
Thanks to all the (very feminine) table at the press conference and, especially, to Irene Navarro, Mayoress of Petrer, and her team from the Department of Economic Development for acting as Host City for The Break Vinalopó 2022.
After breakfast at Genion Lab’s Terracica, we moved to Jovempa’s 4×4, where Genion is one of the veteran companies presenting at the event. An extraordinary networking event for European women entrepreneurs where they have the opportunity to meet a good representation of the local business network.
And we start PlanG! Genion’s entrepreneurial sarao where we bring together the entrepreneurial communities we work with throughout the province, and have coffee, and catch up on our projects, and laugh and hug a lot.
Today PlanG starts with a Circular Coffee, led by Paqui Calderón from La Paca Vintage Market, an entrepreneur from ImpulsaCultura Proyecta who moves us from one place to another, bartering what we don’t use to exchange it for something new. Coffee committed to the circular economy!
Picaeta, FuckUp Nights with Teresa from Babylobitos, Natalia Bravo, Víctor Íñiguez, Rubén Martínez and Adrián from Wabi… among other spontaneous people who wanted to tell us how bad they had it at some point with a business. Sharing, laughing and relativising the bad things, the best therapy!
And a great concert, as always, with the rockers of For Sale with Antonio Marí at the head. Diego Tomás’ speech (with tears and all) to remember the 10 years of Genion Lab’s adventures. And, sold out, mission accomplished. A day to remember for at least another 10 years.

Hoy las breakers amanecen ya en su bonita casa de campo en Petrer… cansancio tras los viajes, nuevas emociones, caras de sorpresa y mucha alegría en el grupo. ¡Es el primer día!

Today the breakers wake up in their beautiful country house in Petrer… tiredness after the trips, new emotions, surprised faces and a lot of joy in the group. It’s the first day!

With our arrival at Genion Lab, we have a new calendar of activities, mentoring sessions, coworking operations, new office mates, lots of coffee and a great desire to get down to work.
Intense day of adjustments, food shopping and return home. Friday 30th is going to be a busy one: press conference, PlanG and Genion Lab’s 10th Anniversary party. Let’s recharge our batteries!

Hoy, miércoles 28, arranca el proyecto europeo ‘The Break’ en Genion Lab.

Un programa, impulsado por EOI e Impact Hub Madrid, para atraer mujeres emprendedoras y empresarias europeas hacia España. Hablamos de generar nuevas oportunidades de negocio, contactos de valor, talento y nuevas inversiones en nuestro país… entre otras muchas cosas.

La buena noticia es que Genion Lab es la única entidad seleccionada en la Comunidad Valenciana para organizar The Break. Y hemos decidido llamarlo The Break Vinalopó. ¿Por qué? Porque creemos que la llegada de este tipo de programas (tan femeninos, europeos, respetuosos con las personas y el medio ambiente…) pueden convertirse en claves para la transformación de nuestra terreta. 

Así que, tras muchos meses de preparativos, ¡allá vamos! El primer grupo de mujeres europeas recién llegado. 12 valientes que llegan a seguir haciendo crecer sus negocios, proyectos y sueños. A compartir una experiencia única de casi un mes y a regalarnos buenos momentos junto a nuestra familia de coworkers.

Today, Wednesday 28th, the European project ‘The Break’ begins at Genion Lab.

A programme, promoted by EOI and Impact Hub Madrid, to attract European women entrepreneurs and businesswomen to Spain. We are talking about generating new business opportunities, valuable contacts, talent and new investments in our country… among many other things.

The good news is that Genion Lab is the only entity selected in the Valencian Community to organise The Break. And we have decided to call it The Break Vinalopó. Why? Because we believe that the arrival of this type of programme (so feminine, European, respectful of people and the environment…) can become key to the transformation of our region.

So, after many months of preparations, here we go! The first group of European women has just arrived. 12 brave women who have come to continue growing their businesses, projects and dreams. To share a unique experience of almost a month and to give us good times with our coworker family.
