As you probably know, the Valencian Community ranks fourth in the country in terms of the number of SMEs… they are the main drivers of job creation! Many of them also want to move towards more socially responsible and environmentally friendly approaches, but are there simple roadmaps and the necessary support to help them achieve this?
Bringing the SDGs to the local level – how?
The ‘Spain: A Nation of Entrepreneurs’ strategy already views innovative entrepreneurship as a ‘catalyst’ for a new model for the country. At Genion, we have spent many years seeking to build partnerships and entrepreneurial networks that transform local communities. We always work as a community and remain committed to people and the planet.
Thanks to Transformacionales, we are now focusing our efforts on small and medium-sized enterprises, the self-employed, and entrepreneurial projects in Valencia, with a view to accelerating the integration of the principles of the 2030 Agenda and putting them into practice. The aim is to create straightforward roadmaps that can be incorporated into their business activities.
Transformational Goals
We kicked off 2020 with training programmes to raise awareness of the SDGs; in 2021, we continued with a podcast dedicated to the people and companies that were already changing the world; now, in 2022 and 2023, we’re taking action too!
In line with the country’s challenges, which have already been prioritised in the Sustainable Development Strategy, we are stepping up our efforts on the ground, creating flexible tools to produce accessible and straightforward roadmaps, and bringing together individuals, businesses, and public and private institutions to build genuine support networks to accelerate progress towards the 2030 Goals…
In summary, Transformacionales’ objectives for 2022/23 are:
- To accelerate the local implementation of the SDGs in the Vinalopó region through participatory work [via what we call ‘Laboratories’] and multi-stakeholder partnerships.
- To provide agile online tools that offer straightforward roadmaps towards the 2030 Agenda for entrepreneurs and SMEs [we are currently designing a chatbot].
- To create networks that foster collaboration and the development of initiatives to implement and accelerate the 2030 Goals [this Transformational Network will operate on an online platform where we will connect around 400 individuals, companies and institutions committed to accelerating and localising the SDGs].
You and your company can join the Transformacionales network
We are talking about focusing our full attention on entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises. Even more so on women entrepreneurs and businesswomen, recognising and highlighting them as agents of change and economic development, and promoting measures to overcome the barriers they face throughout the entrepreneurial process.
And we’re also talking about creating quality jobs, but also a just green transition and a transformation of our consumption and production models; we’re talking about innovation, gender equality… we’re talking about creating businesses that are good for the world.
‘All people and all efforts to ensure the sustainability of life and the planet’
Here in the Valencian Community, there is a network led by the Genion cooperative that brings together all those individuals and organisations – both public and private – who are committed to creating businesses that are good for the world. It’s called La Network, and if, whilst reading this post, you’ve felt in tune with our approach [if you want to create a simple roadmap for your business, make use of agile tools to guide you, forge new local partnerships to move forward…], you can join by applying HERE 😉
