Lunes 17

¡Tercer lunes de las breakers en Genion Lab! Y, como ya sabéis, los lunes son menos lunes gracias al SweetMonday… hoy, además, tenemos la visita de Paloma Tarazona la Directora de Fevecta, la Federación Valenciana de Cooperativas de Trabajo Asociado. Una súper profesional que, además, pasa toda la mañana mentorizando a quienes quieren crear sus cooperativas en Europa. Temazo.

La tarde continúa con nuevas mentorías… afrontamos la última semana de estancia de la primera cohorte y la Agenda está cada vez más llena. Sprint final, qué penita.

Monday 17 th

Third Monday of the breakers at Genion Lab! And, as you know, Mondays are less Monday thanks to SweetMonday… today we also have the visit of Paloma Tarazona, Director of Fevecta, the Valencian Federation of Worker Cooperatives. A super professional who, in addition, spends the whole morning mentoring those who want to create their cooperatives in Europe. Great stuff.

The afternoon continues with new mentoring sessions… we are facing the last week of the first cohort’s stay and the Agenda is getting fuller and fuller. Final sprint, what a pity.

Viernes 14

Viernes de visitas y avances en el reto de la Industria. Hoy dos marcas importantes de Petrer: Baby Lobitos e Hispanitas. 

En Baby Lobitos nos recibe Teresa, fundadora de la marca infantil. Aquí explica a las breakers cómo a raíz de su participación en PetrerEmprende creó una cooperativa de trabajadoras como modelo para hacer crecer la empresa. Teresa fue una anfitriona súper entregada y nos mostró todo el proceso de producción de sus zapatos: sostenible, artesano, respetuoso con el medio ambiente… un proyectazo.

Al salir de esta fábrica, break en un parque para desayunar (por cierto, gracias a Panaderías Aracena que nos está cuidando un montón estos días y llevando el control de las dietas sin gluten, veganas, etc… brutal) y volando a Hispanitas. 

Hispanitas es una marca de calzado femenina con presencia en todo el mundo. Van ya por la tercera generación y la verdad es que impresiona la pasión e innovación que aplican a todos los procesos de producción, diseño, marketing, etc… el recorrido por sus instalaciones impresionante y el recibimiento por parte del equipo fundador y directivo súper encantador.

De Hispanitas directas a la segunda sesión del reto de la Industria de Moda y Calzado. Implicación máxima del grupo de breakers durante toda la sesión, aportando propuestas, preguntando dudas, intentado pensarlo todo desde otra perspectiva… Por cierto, Alexis con una pregunta tras otra durante la sesión . 

Seguimos avanzando en: cómo hacer más atractivo el sector para que haya un relevo generacional que ahora no se está consiguiendo… ¡seguimos!

Friday the 14 th

Friday of visits and progress in the challenge of Industry. Today two important Petrer brands: Baby Lobitos and Hispanitas.
At Baby Lobitos we are welcomed by Teresa, founder of the children’s brand. Here she explains to the breakers how, as a result of her participation in PetrerEmprende, she created a workers cooperative as a model for growing the company. Teresa was a very dedicated hostess and showed us the whole production process of her shoes: sustainable, artisan, respectful with the environment… a great project.

After leaving this factory, we broke for breakfast in a park (by the way, thanks to Panaderías Aracena who are looking after us a lot these days and taking care of the gluten-free and vegan diets, etc… brutal) and flew to Hispanitas.

Hispanitas is a women’s footwear brand with a worldwide presence. They are now in their third generation and the truth is that the passion and innovation they apply to all the processes of production, design, marketing, etc… the tour of their facilities was impressive and the reception by the founding and management team was super charming.

From Hispanitas we go directly to the second session of the Fashion and Footwear Industry challenge. Maximum involvement of the group of breakers throughout the session, contributing proposals, asking questions, trying to think about everything from a different perspective… By the way, Alexis asked one question after another during the session.

We continue progressing on: how to make the sector more attractive so that there is a generational change that is not being achieved now… we continue!

Jueves 13

Ayer fue festivo, así que las breakers  celebraron en la casa de campo un brainstorming con dinámica parecida al que hicimos el día del reto de la Industria, eso sí, esta vez aplicado a la mejora de sus propios proyectos. Lo mejor de todo, es que lo hicieron en grupo, todas con todas. Una pasada. Aportando lo mejor de cada una al proyecto de la otra. Y es que de ahí salieron muchas ideas geniales para poner en marcha.

Hoy dedican la mañana a sus proyectos y, por la tarde, sesión formativa con Impact Hub. Esta vez conectan con Sofia Trenor con su clase ‘Company culture from zero to hero’   sobre cómo construir la cultura dentro de la empresa

Al terminar la sesión Clem y Ana se van  a hacer compra y aprovechan para tomar un café en su sitio favorito: Cilantro, en Elda. Al llegar a casa ¡sorpresa! Verena y Eline han preparado una cena riquísima: ensalada con queso de cabra gratinado y shakshuka.

El día termina con meditación y música guiada por Frode y su amigo Pedro…bueno, más que sesion, supersesión porque alargaron el encuentro hasta tres horas.

Thursday 13th
Yesterday was a public holiday, so the breakers held a brainstorming session in the field house with a similar dynamic to the one we did on the day of the Industry challenge, but this time applied to improving their own projects. Best of all, they did it as a group, all with all. It was amazing. Bringing the best of each one to the other’s project. And this gave rise to many great ideas to put into practice.
Today they dedicate the morning to their projects and, in the afternoon, a training session with Impact Hub. This time they connect with Sofia Trenor with her class ‘Company culture from zero to hero’ on how to build culture within the company.
At the end of the session Clem and Ana go shopping and take the opportunity to have a coffee in their favourite place: Cilantro, in Elda. When they get home, surprise! Verena and Eline have prepared a delicious dinner: salad with grilled goat cheese and shakshuka.
The day ends with meditation and music guided by Frode and his friend Pedro… well, more of a supersession than a session, because they extended the meeting to three hours.

Martes 11

Hoy, las breakers vuelven a conectar con Impact Hub Madrid y continúan con Korina Irschitz hablando de liderazgo y comunicación. El grupo conecta, como de costumbre; algunas lo hacen desde la Academy y otras desde la casa de campo.

Una cosa que no habíamos contado antes es que las breakers recogen su desayuno en un comercio local y esta tarde de martes, toca pasar a por él. Huevos, frutas, yogur, mucha avena, tomates, panes integrales… por ahí van las preferencias en cuanto a desayunos del grupo de europeas 😉

Tuesday 11

Today, the breakers connect again with Impact Hub Madrid and continue with Korina Irschitz talking about leadership and communication. The group connects, as usual; some do it from the Academy and others from the country house.

One thing we haven’t told you before is that the breakers pick up their breakfast from a local shop and this Tuesday afternoon, it’s time to pick it up. Eggs, fruit, yoghurt, lots of oatmeal, tomatoes, wholemeal bread… that’s the breakfast preferences of the group of Europeans 😉

Lunes 10

¡Nueva semana! Hoy Sweetmonday junto a David Moreno, fundador de la marca ilicitana de gafas ‘Hawkers’. David viene a hablarnos sobre Fastlove Studios Lab y todos los proyectos que llevan en marcha. Esta mañana se habla en clave: metaverso, DAO, solar punk … conceptos visionarios que las chicas escuchan con mucha atención. Después del desayuno, las breakers se trasladan a la Academy de Genion Lab para tener un face-to face con David. Toda una súper experiencia hablando de pintar nuevos futuros. 

Mediodía y tarde de mentorías. Hoy Diego Tomás se instala en la Terracica como despacho base y, mentoría tras mentoría, lo observamos entusiasmado dándolo todo.

Monday 10

New week! Today Sweetmonday with David Moreno, founder of the Elche-based eyewear brand ‘Hawkers’. David comes to talk to us about Fastlove Studios Lab and all the projects they are working on. This morning they talk in code: metaverse, DAO, solar punk … visionary concepts that the girls listen to with great attention. After breakfast, the breakers move to the Genion Lab Academy to have a face-to-face with David. A super experience talking about painting new futures.

Noon and afternoon of mentoring. Today Diego Tomás is installed in the Terracica as a base office and, mentoring after mentoring, we watch him enthusiastically giving his all.

Fin de semana de expediciones: la piscina helada de la casa de campo, las playas, las rutas de montaña… y todo un descubrimiento para nuestras breakers: el Parque Natural de la Albufera en Valencia, con sus aves, los arrozales y los paseos en barca. 

También, por fin, comienzan las catas de arroces en nuestra terreta. ¿Quién ganará: arroz alicantino o paella valenciana? Serán las breakers quienes decidan al final de su estancia 😉

A weekend of expeditions: the icy pool at the country house, the beaches, the mountain routes… and a discovery for our breakers: the Albufera Natural Park in Valencia, with its birds, rice fields and boat rides.

Also, at last, the rice tastings in our terreta begin. Who will win: Alicante’s rice or Valencian paella? It will be up to the breakers to decide at the end of their stay 😉

Viernes 07

Día intenso: visita a Inescop (Instituto Tecnológico del Calzado), a la fábrica Studio Ilana, al Museo del Calzado y primera sesión de trabajo para abordar el reto comarcal de la Industria con el que se han comprometido las breakers.

En la visita a Inescop nos recibe Paqui Arán y Javi Navarro, y guían durante todo el recorrido a las breakers para que conozcan sus tres demostradores. Aquí nos enseñaron lo que será  ‘el zapato del futuro’; su tecnología y, además, nos hablaron sobre cómo han dado el salto a fabricar con materiales reciclados. Visita top.

A continuación, nos desplazamos hasta la sede de Studio Ilana. Las breakers se quedaron muy sorprendidas con la forma de trabajar de esta compañía y su fabricación artesanal para marcas de lujo.

A mediodía, llegamos al Museo del Calzado donde nos esperaba Rubén Alfaro, Alcalde de Elda, y Silvia Ibáñez, Concejala de Industria, para dar la bienvenida oficial de la ciudad de Elda a The Break Vinalopó. Fotos de familia, regalitos, agradecimientos y mucha atención a lo que programas europeos como The Break pueden aportar a la ciudad. En el Museo iniciamos la primera sesión para trabajar el reto de Industria (las breakers vienen comprometidas con los retos comarcales) desde el prisma más femenino, europeo, sostenible e inclusivo. Trataremos de pintar nuevos futuros desde el optimismo. Agradecemos especialmente la implicación de Inescop, con todo su expertise, en el desarrollo de cada una de estas sesiones para lograr contextualizarlo todo. Gracias también hoy al equipo de gobierno de Elda por la compañía, la picaeta en el Museo y por todo el apoyo recibido desde los inicios de nuestra candidatura a participar en The Break desde la Concejalía de Industria de Elda. Y gracias a Loles Esteve, Directora del Museo del Calzado, que nos atendió con mucho cariño y generosidad y que además nos regaló una ruta sorpresa por el museo al finalizar la sesión.

Estos días la cobertura de medios de comunicación está siendo un súper éxito, el proyecto aparece en televisiones locales, comarcales y en la autonómica valenciana A Punt, además de en los principales medios de toda la provincia. La estancia de The Break está despertando mucho interés y, desde aquí, aprovechamos para agradecer a la gran cantidad de periodistas que nos están llamando para concertar entrevistas y ampliar información sobre el programa europeo 😉

Friday the 7th

Intense day: visit to Inescop (Footwear Technological Institute), the Studio Ilana factory, the Footwear Museum and the first work session to tackle the regional challenge of the industry to which the breakers have committed themselves.

During the visit to Inescop, Paqui Arán and Javi Navarro welcomed us and guided the breakers throughout the tour so that they could get to know their three demonstrators. Here they showed us what will be ‘the shoe of the future’; its technology and, in addition, they talked to us about how they have made the leap to manufacturing with recycled materials. Top visit.

Next, we went to the headquarters of Studio Ilana. The breakers were very surprised with the way this company works and its handmade production for luxury brands.

At midday, we arrived at the Footwear Museum where Rubén Alfaro, Mayor of Elda, and Silvia Ibáñez, Councillor for Industry, were waiting for us to officially welcome the city of Elda to The Break Vinalopó. Family photos, gifts, thanks and a lot of attention to what European programmes such as The Break can bring to the city. In the Museum we started the first session to work on the challenge of Industry (the breakers are committed to the regional challenges) from a more feminine, European, sustainable and inclusive perspective. We will try to paint new futures based on optimism. We are especially grateful for the involvement of Inescop, with all its expertise, in the development of each of these sessions in order to contextualise everything. Thanks also today to the Elda government team for the company, the picaeta at the Museum and for all the support received since the beginning of our candidacy to participate in The Break from the Elda Department of Industry. And thanks to Loles Esteve, Director of the Footwear Museum, who treated us with great affection and generosity and who also gave us a surprise tour of the museum at the end of the session.

These days the media coverage is being a great success, the project is appearing on local and regional television and on the Valencian regional A Punt, as well as in the main media throughout the province. The Break’s stay is arousing a lot of interest and we would like to take this opportunity to thank the large number of journalists who are calling us to arrange interviews and further information about the European programme 😉

Jueves 06

Nuevo día de Formación en Genion Lab para The Break. El grupo conecta desde la Academy con Impact Hub Madrid para que las breakers sigan sus sesiones formativas. Hoy clase con Korina Irschitz sobre liderazgo y comunicación. 

Al llegar a casa, como de costumbre, las breakers cenan juntas en la casa de campo. Y es que, aunque el grupo es súper diverso, se llevan genial: comparten mesa e incluso ¡preparan la cena entre todas!  Y no cualquier cena, siempre saludable… y veggie.

Por cierto , nos cuentan que Aga es muy ‘Ángel de la guarda’ del grupo y que siempre está ahí ayudando, apoyando y dispuesta a darlo todo

Thursday the 6th

New training day at Genion Lab for The Break. The group connects from the Academy with Impact Hub Madrid so that the breakers can follow their training sessions. Today we have a class with Korina Irschitz on leadership and communication.

When they get home, as usual, the breakers have dinner together in the country house. Although the group is very diverse, they get along great: they share a table and even prepare dinner together! And not just any dinner, always healthy… and veggie.

By the way, we are told that Aga is like the ‘Guardian Angel’ of the group and that she is always there helping, supporting and ready to give her all.

Miércoles 05

Y continúan las mentorías. Hoy con Esther siguen las sesiones face-to-face de mentoring: Clem, Verena, Annabel y Eline revisando conceptos como la visión o los valores éticos que rigen sus proyectos. 

Por la tarde, un grupo se va con Carlos a conocer la comunidad cultural y creativa El Faro que trabaja desde las fábricas de La Ciudad sin Ley en Petrer. Un espacio con una magia especial. Aquí conocen a algunas emprendedoras como nuestra querida Elisa de La Punxeta Cerámica, participante de PetrerEmprende por cierto. O Yolanda (una de nuestras primeras coworkers) y Maider fundadoras de la agencia La Vache. Después, noche de turismo por Petrer y ¡desfile por sorpresa!: “La nit d’ abans”.

Wednesday the 5th

And the mentoring continues. Today, with Esther, the face-to-face mentoring sessions continue: Clem, Verena, Annabel and Eline review concepts such as vision and the ethical values that govern their projects.

In the afternoon, a group goes with Carlos to get to know the cultural and creative community El Faro, which works from the factories of La Ciudad sin Ley in Petrer. A space with a special magic. Here they meet some entrepreneurs like our dear Elisa from La Punxeta Cerámica, participant of PetrerEmprende by the way. Or Yolanda (one of our first coworkers) and Maider, founders of the agency La Vache. Afterwards, a night of sightseeing in Petrer and a surprise parade: «La nit d’ abans».
